SUMMARY:Social cohesion and national reconciliation’s processes in Côte
d’Ivoire: the complex pathway to a peaceful Community life
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\nSocial cohesion and national reconciliation’s pro
cesses in Côte d’Ivoire : the complex pathway to a peaceful Community l
ife (Dr. Moquet César FLAN- Director of the Centre de Recherche Politique
  d’Abidjan (CRPA))\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn 1990\, Côte d’Ivoire e
mbarked on a challenging democratic transition driven by several factors\,
including the former ruling political party’s nostalgia for the past\,
the limited political experience of the new actors on the Ivorian politica
l scene\, and persistent structural and social vulnerabilities. A series o
f political and social crises followed\, weakening the country's democrati
c transformation process. The most significant of these was the 2010 post-
election crisis. Indeed\, the civil conflict that began in 2002 escalated
dramatically between late October 2010 and April 2011\, resulting in appro
ximately 3\,000 deaths. With the gradual return to stability\, state insti
 tutions\, religious leaders\, traditional authorities\, and non-government
alorganizations (NGOs) became actively involved in national reconciliation
and social cohesion efforts. A wide range of tools and mechanisms were es
tablished to support these objectives. This session of International Talks
aims to examine the most significant of these mechanisms by assessing the
ir relevance\, achievements\, and limitations\, while drawing lessons that
can contribute to building lasting peace within communities.\n\n\n\nSpeak
