Cooperation

We cooperate with the Freiburg Institute for Human Rights Education (FIM), all departments of the Protestant University of Applied Sciences Freiburg, and with national and international civil society cooperation partners in order to teach peace education skills that contribute to a culture of non-violence and peace. The purpose of these educational activities is to promote democracy and sustainability.

Master Peace Education

Focal points of the programme:

  • Peace and human rights education in the 21st century
  • Interdisciplinary peace and conflict research as the basis for human rights-oriented, transformative education
  • Cross-cultural, cross-sectional and international dimensions of peace education and peace building
  • Basic principles and concepts of civil conflict management and the prevention of violence
  • Mediation in education and different communities
  • Theological and philosophical approaches

Ceremonial opening of the Peace Institute on January 23, 2020.

The new Peace Institute Freiburg was inaugurated on Friday, January 24, 2020, with a ceremony attended by more than 220 guests from science, politics, church organisations, and diverse fields of practice. This institute of the Protestant University of Applied Sciences Freiburg will set a new focal point for peace research. With its already cutting-edge interdisciplinary research in the social field, the university has thus significantly expanded its broad thematic portfolio.
